Golding Takes 1st Place in BOCES Read Across America Challenge

In celebration of Read Across America Week, Capital Region BOCES issued a challenge to schools across the region: beat last year’s March 2nd book checkout totals within the BOCES School Library System (SLS).
This year, the BOCES-wide total surpassed last year’s numbers — and Cobleskill-Richmondville proudly led the way with the highest number of checkouts among participating schools.
The success was truly a team effort. All English Language Arts (ELA) classes enthusiastically participated, encouraging students to visit the library and explore new books. Additional classes known for their love of reading, including those led by Mrs. Beisler and Mr. Arruda, also joined the initiative.
The combined enthusiasm across grade levels resulted in a significant increase in student engagement with reading materials and demonstrated the strong reading culture within the district.
Read Across America Week continues to serve as a reminder of the power of literacy and the importance of fostering a lifelong love of reading. Congratulations to all students and staff who helped make this year’s challenge a success!
